Instructions

Task 2A: Double Exposure

Follow the tutorial and complete your double exposure using an image of yourself.

Part 1

For this exercise, I followed the tutorial given and was able to apply the different techniques explained. I learned how to use a gradient map and masking more in-depth.

Part 2

After following the tutorial, I felt that I could explore further with different types of pictures. I took a picture of myself and added pictures of mountains and flowers for double exposure. It was a lot easier the second time around.

Task 2B: Poster Design

Create a poster for the MyTIGER competition that follows the values and theme. The poster must focus on 1 SDG goal.

Process

I chose SDG 6 focusing on clean water and sanitation. I prefer the first poster idea because the composition is strong.

Digital Process

I added pictures related to those struggling to clean water into a teardrop-shaped mask. Adjusting the multiple images to look right.

I blurred the boundaries between the images so they looked more cohesive. Added a strong headline and made a yellow and black box to emphasize the text more.

Final

Titled: "Sustainable Future"

This poster is designed based on SDG Goal 6 - Clean Water and Sanitation. This poster depicts those who live their daily lives struggling even to have access to clean drinking water. It emphasizes that clean water is a human right, not a privilege. I hope this poster generates a call to action: people value water more and reduce wastage when possible and donate to causes advancing clean water for all.

Reflection

Through this assignment, I learned a lot of new techniques and got to explore poster design with creative freedom. I was able to make appropriate and accurate judgments after getting a grasp of how to make a good design.
