Instructions
Task 3: Game Prototype
Students given the task to create the prototype of their game. The prototype doesn’t need to have the final art asset, and the use of grey boxing is allowed. The focus here is to quickly test out the game mechanics and to troubleshoot any technical difficulties discovered during the development. The focus should be the MVP of your game.
This includes:
- Coding movements and actions
- Coding obstacles and enemies’ interactions
- Coding game levels (Logic of the game)
Process
I worked off the existing tutorial file because it had the same design as my
game and was a lot more efficient. I used some tile sets from online but
they worked out great, I think if I wasn't stressed about the assets I
probably could've focused on the gameplay more.

Feedback
Reflection
Overall
Actually for the prototype I had a lot of fun with the tile sets, you can get
really creative about your level designs and it's a fun process. I was
struggling with some of the coding though so I tried to do what I learned from
earlier classes and a mix of Youtube tutorials.
The problem with a mish mash of Youtube tutorials though is that all the
different code doesn't work as seamlessly as you'd like. Half this assignment
was going through all the errors. Due to lack of time and everything I
simplified my design a lot, I'm not sure if I'll have enough time in Task 4
considering all my other assignments as well.
